For more detailed instructions, check out the Tips for a Successful Application in the red box above. You can keep track of your progress by using the checklist of required items on the application website. You may start your application and work on it over time by clicking "Save."
When you complete the application, YOU MUST click "Submit" at the top of Application Overview page. You will be able to return to make changes up until the application deadline.
Applicants are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to apply for more than one scholarship. AFTER SUBMITTING YOUR COMPLETED JHSSF APPLICATION, you will see a screen that lists any additional partner scholarships you may be eligible to apply to. You must submit an essay or answer questions for each scholarship for which you are applying. If you fail to submit the required content for each additional scholarship, you will not be considered for it. Do not forget to click the Submit button.
Two recommendations are required. We must receive these recommendations for your application to be complete. You may also request an optional third recommendation from a coach, employer, or community member not related to you. It is best to choose references who can comment on your character, concern for others, and ability to succeed in college. The two required references should come from your JHS counselor and from a teacher who knows you well.
Be sure to check your email! Correspondence related to this application will be emailed to you at the address you provide, WHICH CAN NOT BE YOUR "FCPS schools" email. Be sure to provide an accurate email address, update the JHSSF with any changes, and check your email frequently.
