Decorate a Vet Scholarship

James Schroll, President of the Justice High School Scholarship Fund, accepts a donation check from Decorate A Vet Vice President, Moe Jafari, CEO of Executive1 Holding Company in Tysons and Decorate A Vet President and Founder, Jeffrey Jones, CEO of Classic Stonescaping and Gardens in Falls Church.

With great pleasure, we announce a new chapter in our collaboration with Decorate A Vet. Founded by J.E.B. Stuart HS alumni and Justice HS parents Jeff and Patti Jones, Decorate A Vet engaged volunteers and local business and community leaders to honor Northern Virginia veterans whose service allows us all to lead freer lives. After more than a decade of celebrating local veterans through Decorate A Vet, the Joneses are shifting attention to the next generation of leaders. With the full support of its Board, Decorate A Vet has donated its remaining funds to the JHS Scholarship Fund. Their new contribution will fund an annual scholarship for accomplished JHS seniors with demonstrated financial need and a commitment to the ideals of liberty, duty, and service.

For each of the last two years, Decorate A Vet contributed a scholarship to help a student with a connection to the military to attend college. With this new donation, Decorate A Vet shows the commitment of our broader community to the success of the next generation – assuring scholarships for a student for several years to come.

The Jones family includes three generations of J.E.B. Stuart/Justice HS graduates – Patti’s father and uncle, high school sweethearts, Jeff and Patti, and their children, Rachel and Ethan. Decorate A Vet Board members are also grounded in our local community. Moe Jafari, Decorate A Vet Vice President, is a local entrepreneur. David Tax, their Treasurer, owns the well-loved Falls Church eateries, Claire and Don’s Beach Shack and Mike’s Deli. Board Secretary Sarah Given’s daughters graduated from and currently attend Justice HS. They each honor and encourage the ideals exemplified by our military veterans and provide a “leg-up” for a JHS student who may take those ideals forward for the good of our community, our nation, and our world.

We are grateful for the chance to share in the Decorate a Vet legacy, support another JHS Senior’s college journey, and promote the ideals of liberty, duty, and service.
